Synopsis
Dante Chambers thought leaving the Navy would finally bring peace.
Instead, civilian life feels increasingly distant from him.
In the years following his last deployment, Dante is a husband, a father, and a man struggling to stay mentally present inside the life he fought to build. Conversations slip away moments after they happen. Exhaustion lingers no matter how much he sleeps.
Some days, it feels like he never came home at all.
Desperate for answers, Dante turns to a private veterans’ clinic offering treatment for post-9/11 service members.
Then the voices begin.
At the same time, Dante’s closest friend and former Navy mentor, Nate, struggles to find direction after years of military service. Restless, isolated, and unable to settle into civilian life, Nate begins noticing the same impossible patterns surrounding Dante’s condition.
Whatever followed them home may already have reached far more lives than their own. And as Dante and Nate close in on the truth, they begin to question whether they ever truly came back to the people they love.

Beyond the Story
Anchored Premonition is fiction, but its emotional foundation grew from experiences familiar to many service members, veterans, and military families: accumulated operational stress, grief, disconnection, the loss of structure after service, and the difficult work of becoming present again.
The speculative story is fictional.
The feelings behind it came from somewhere real.
